Conservation Symposium for Wood, Blanding's, and Spotted Turtles
& Related Emydine Turtles - July 10–12, 2023

A Conservation Symposium for Wood, Blanding's, and Spotted Turtles, and related Emydine turtles, will be held July 10–12, 2023 at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. This symposium will build upon earlier conferences in 2016 and 2019 and is the first to focus primarily on the conservation of the turtle subfamily Emydinae (Glyptemys, Clemmys, Emydoidea, Emys, Actinemys, and Terrapene spp.). Following a social gathering the evening of July 10, conference presentations will be held on July 11 and 12. The meeting will be held in person, with the option of remote participation and/or presentation. A special issue of conference papers is proposed. Conference presentations will be organized into the following proposed topical sessions:

(2) Population Assessment / Monitoring
(3) Population Genetics
(4) Conservation Planning - What Has Worked?
(5) Landscape Ecology and Modeling
(6) Climate Adaptation
(7) Management & Restoration - Where from Here?
(8) Illegal Trade
